Positive: We booked the stay as part of my Dad’s 90th birthday treat. On the whole, we really enjoyed our 2 night stay, the property is all on one level with beautiful views of countryside and garden. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

Negative: The towels were really hard and scratchy. We had to be careful when turning the sink tap on in the bathroom because the water overshoots the edge of the sink and goes everywhere. When I handed the keys back to the owner, I did point this out and her and told her I’d burnt the top of my leg as a result. Her response was that we were the first people to have this problem in all the years she’d been running the property. We also had problems connecting to wifi but then realised that the box was switched off. Surely that should be kept on. Finally, make sure you allow time for the ‘to do’ list before you leave, I didn’t think stripping beds and sorting laundry etc should be the responsibility of guests.

Summary: Lovely stay but host a bit icy.
