Positive: The whole house is only 2 rental apartments, so not many neighbours. The house has a big backyard garden. There is a sauna in the basement of the house. The corridors leading to that sauna work as a tiny art gallery too (~10 paintings). This apartment (the first-floor apartment) has a small balcony.
Negative: 1. The shower is not private. The shower is in the basement, which is shared with the other apartment in the house. By no means did the host lie about this in the post, but it's also not explicitly said (or I didn't read it). The posting does say "shared bathroom", but I didn't know that the shower was shared until I arrived at the place. The toilet is private (this seems to be the case for this apartment, the one on the first floor, and not the one on the ground floor, but I am not sure). 2. There is a kitchenette, not a kitchen. Again, the posting said this, but for a relatively big apartment, you would expect it to have a kitchen. But here comes the thing: you have to wash the dishes in the bathroom. Depending on how much you abide by the rules of feng shui (?), this could be a problem. For 1 and 2: this apartment has 1 bedroom, 2 living rooms (one of them with the kitchenette), 1 bathroom (only toilet, no shower), and 1 empty cellar room. I am no hotel manager nor house designer, but it was strange that for this considerable-sized apartment, there was no private shower nor a regular kitchen. 3. The kitchenette, again. There are not enough power outlets and/or power strips for all the kitchen appliances. To use the microwave, I had to disconnect something else. In this case, and without realizing it until the next day, it was the small fridge. You don't want to give this option to the guest: to be able to disconnect the fridge, which normally doesn't happen, as the power outlets of normal-size fridges are behind them and you can't reach them. Please add power strips for all the kitchen appliances.
