2 Bedroom Cabin in Muddy Pond, Monterey
Welcome to the community of Muddy Pond! The charm of your experience begins as You wind through our little farming community and pass unique stores and leather shops. Feel free to stop and pick up some quality baked goods, or other treats at The Country Porch or Muddy Pond General Store on your way in.
After you leave the main Muddy Pond Road, you will enter a gated road and begin your descent for 1 mile to the river. The road is well-maintained, but is gravel, and a low car is not advised. Our cabin is secluded and located on the banks of the Obey (Obee) River. The large porches overlooking the river are provided with comfortable seating, a gas griddle and a swing bed. You can enjoy the sounds of nature and the river, or even take a nap without going inside the cabin. We have a spacious living area with several couches and recliners, a puzzle table, and a woodstove for chilly fall evenings. There is a full kitchen with quality Amish-made cabinets and new appliances. There is a half bath also on the main floor.
In the loft upstairs, there is a smart TV, pool table, and a queen sized Murphy bed, which can be folded down. The bedroom has a king bed, and there is a full bathroom with a shower. The bedroom also has a small walkout veranda overlooking the woods behind the cabin.
We use this cabin primarily for our family gatherings, and in the summertime, the swimming hole is a popular place to cool off. While you are here, the area is reserved completely for you. The nearest neighbors are about 1/2 mile down the river, So your peaceful walks along the river will probably be uninterrupted.
Since the cabin only has one completely private bedroom, we listed it for two guests, but there is a comfortable queen-sized Murphy bed in the loft area with blackout curtains surrounding it which can be used for additional guests.
Cell service is nonexistent by the river, but the cabin has high-speed Internet installed.
If you spend a few days in the area, there are beautiful hikes and waterfalls to explore within driving distance. Some of our favorite Sunday afternoon hikes are: Bee Rock, Colditz Cove, Twin Arches, and Burgess Falls.
