This is one of the great cottages designed by architect John Calvin Stevens in 1904, on a full acre + just two minutes from the water. Large, bright, and airy cottage with plenty of room for you and your family or friends to spread out. Five bedrooms and six porches (three covered), living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, pantry, two full baths, and a private outdoor shower. Unpack in the well-appointed bedrooms, each with its own closet and bureau. Sleep easy with modern individual climate controls, white cotton sheets, and ceiling fans in every bedroom. The gorgeous dining room is perfect for gatherings and long relaxed dinners prepared in the fully equipped kitchen. Look across the expansive acre plus lawn and at night the sparkling lights of Portland through the old growth trees. Take advantage of everything Portland has to offer (it’s a foodie and arts paradise), and then take a short ferry or water taxi home to your island. Hike, bike, or glide: the house rental includes 10 bikes, 3 kayaks, and a golf cart for leisurely rides around the many island trails. Make your way to the more populated north side of the island's Diamond Cove for dinner in a 5-star restaurant, or pick up something to snack on in their well-stocked gourmet shop.
