Positive: The cottage itself was clean and tidy with lovely views, but the overall experience and lack of support from Sykes Cottages was not good enough.

Negative: We booked thinking we were staying in Pitlochry town, but the property was actually an hour away in a very remote location with nothing around — we couldn’t even get a coffee. When we discovered that deer hunting was conducted there, we contacted Sykes Cottages. Despite receiving plenty of emails from them after booking, it then took more than 24 hours to get a response, which was really disappointing. Sykes refused to refund us, even though we explained that we’re both vegetarians and were very uncomfortable staying at a hunting lodge.
