Varenna today is a quietly refined town with beautiful old houses and romantic panoramas. The climate is particularly mild, as witnessed by the presence of olive and cypress trees together with other botanical specimens normally found in much warmer climates. Along the lakefront is a romantic walkway, abundant with flora, and linking the town center to Olivedo, the landing point for ferries and steamers. Varenna is the ideal starting point for a visit to the northern/central part of Italy and the southern Swiss Alps. It is less than two hours from the Milano Malpensa airport and one hour from the Milano Linate airport.Casa Piana is a 80 sqm accommodation for four. On the ground floor is a quaint living room with sofa and armchair. The living room opens up onto a terrace with table and chairs. The kitchen/dining room has a fridge, stove and washing machine. The master bedroom is located on this floor and has an ensuite bathroom with bathtub. From the bathroom there are stairs leading to the second bedroom with two twin beds. These can be made into a queen upon request. Varenna is 10 minutes driving (all shops, restaurants, ferry and railroad station) with connections to Menaggio and Bellagio via ferry. The railroad station in Varenna connects you to Milano by train in one hour. There is a golf course in Menaggio (15 minutes by ferry plus 10 by car).
