Summary: I was honestly disappointed with the hotel after having high expectations from reviews. The check in process was fine. They asked where we parked our car and I said in the under garage and they took my registration. It wasn’t until the day we checked out we realised you could access the hotel from the garage. Instead we had been walking along the main road with a child to reception. When we checked in a car was blocking the doorway and not once at check in were we advised. The room was spacious and nice and bathroom was amazing. However it was very very dusty. The beds were really comfy but because it’s an old building the floors creak. We had people in the room above us walking their hotel room for over two hours and this was not fun so I would request a room with no one above you. Breakfast was not good. Had to ask for place settings on table we were sat at. Took our breakfast order. My sons and mothers came out but then said mine would be another five minutes to cook the eggs (?) and then when they came out the eggs was barely cooked. The white of the poached egg was not opaque at all. I said to the waitress my eggs were raw and her response was “oh sorry I will let the kitchen know”. No offer to replace or an alternative. When we checked out there was no “how was your stay”. It was very abrupt. I’ve worked in travel for over 15 years and this wasn’t a good stay. Maybe we were unlucky but we came aware tired from rubbish sleep and that’s not what you want post trip
