Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Excellent and quiet location 5-10 minutes walk from town centre, railway/bus station, and 4 supermarkets (Foetex, Netto, Lidl, Kvickly). We stayed on the ground floor in the larger lounge/open kitchen area with stove, oven, washing machine and drying tumbler, but had to share the bathroom/toilet with occupants from two smaller rooms upstairs. The house is apparently from 1850 (does not look that old) and within the past six months or so renovated with, amongst other things, wood panelled underfloor heating for the colder months. The host was very accommodating, when we did not know how to get the tumbler working and asked for a drying rack and an iron/steamer. Additionally, we asked for a sign to be put up that the front door must be locked at all times as some of the upstairs tenants left it unlocked all night, apparently due to unfamiliarity with the door lock (always pull the handle up before turning the key to lock). Overall an enjoyable and relaxing stay with free wifi that we depend upon for family and friend contact.

Negative: Asians love to cook and spice up their food, so we bought a morter and pestel as none was in the kitchen. Many knives, forks and spoons, but only two teaspoons. Better with an even number of all. A mixture of newer and older plates, bowls and glasses, etc. of which some have cracks. Fixed sets of each gives a better impression than a mixture of different and old ones. Beware that there is no easy accessibility to taxis or Uber (have to come from Esbjerg 30 kilometres away), so prepare in advance and wake up early, if you have a lot of luggage going the approximately 400 metres to the station - takes 10 minutes without luggage and longer if you carry much luggage.
