Within a few steps there is the children’s Shipwreck playground and next to that is the popular Maryport Aquarium. Across the road from Harbour Gates and beside the River Ellen is the Wave Centre which is host to a variety of entertainment and leisure activities as well as being home to the Maritime Museum.
Within easy walking distance you can be in Maryport centre which has undergone substantial investment to its infrastructure and includes a pedestrian footbridge over the harbour front. In Maryport there is a range of pubs and a variety of restaurants which cater for most culinary wants.
